1. Freemium dominates the AI-education market
Of the 1,660 published tools we analyzed, 72.2% use a freemium model — free to start, paid to scale. A further 11.6% are fully free, meaning 83.8% of AI-education tools can be tried at no cost. Only 16.2% are paid-only.
2. Learning platforms lead the category landscape
AI-education tools cluster into 46 categories. Learning platforms, study tools, and research tools are the most crowded — reflecting where AI is being adopted fastest in teaching and learning.

Every item passes an automated quality gate and AI tagging pipeline, then human review before publication. Tool data is compiled from official sources and editorially reviewed; pricing models and categories are hand-verified. Figures in this report are queried live from our production database on each load and reflect published, human-reviewed records only.
