Still, many learners freeze when they face a real task. Deep learning needs effort, feedback, mistakes, and time. Many tools smooth that out because friction hurts engagement, so the experience stays comfortable while understanding stays shallow. There’s also an incentive problem. Fast mastery means shorter user lifetimes. Shorter lifetimes mean lower revenue. So products grow around engagement loops and daily usage. The metric that should matter is how quickly someone can leave because they no longer need the tool. Very few teams build around that idea.
